2008 SEASON WRAPUP 2008 proved a typical season for
the "Premier Club on the Coast". Typical that is when you consider
winning premierships comes more often than not. The First
XV team backed up the 2007 premiership win with a hard
fought 18-14 victory over arch rival Coffs Harbour. The veteran
Second XV outfit upset talented newcomers Bowraville 11-7 to
add further silverware to the trophy cabinet. The Colts (U/18's),
whilst not figuring in the final weekend of the season impressed with
some great running rugby and with half a dozen players experiencing
senior rugby, including several figuring as mainstays in the 1st XV
squad, and with the bulk of the squad young enough to back up next
season, they will surely start the 2009 season amongst the favourites.
The annual presentation night saw the
top award (Best Footballer) go to club legend and President, Peter
Besseling. Best & Fairest in Colts went to Scott Munro. Full
details of other awards may be found on the "News" page. Our progressive rugby club welcomes nominations from interested players
to join us on the East Australian Coast. Assistance is
available to selected applicants with your accommodation and employment
needs. Why not email us today for more information.
