Home
Matches:
Home matches are played at Wood
Street Oval, just off Hastings
River Drive. This is about 2 kms from the Port Macquarie Town Centre.
The "Pirates" ground has a well equipped clubhouse with associated
change rooms, toilet facilities.
On all home games spectators and players alike are treated to tap beer,
steak or sausage sandwiches, and other associated munchies from our
well stocked kiosk. Austar TV is available in the clubhouse to ensure
those important international games are also watched.
Our well grassed playing field and training areas provide a great site
for spectator viewing from the clubhouse bar, grandstand or on the
sunny hill with most of the crew. Home games retain a picnic style
atmosphere with plenty of room under shaded trees for the layout of the
blanket and the running around for the smaller members of the family

Contacts:
The Port Macquarie Pirate
Rugby Club maintains a strong
and
extensive association with a number of Australian and overseas clubs,
with a number of out local players traveling overseas and gaining
valuable experience while many overseas players notably from the UK and
in NZ often playing with us. Such strong connections are often an
assistance to local and/or overseas players who wish to combine travel
and rugby.

After
Match Functions:
An important emphasis is placed on the after game activities. After
match functions are held at the Wood Street clubhouse, This gives the
Club Captains the opportunity to present awards, for they and the
referee(s) to speak on the day's rugby and for players, supporters and
friends to participate in the usual post game activities. Afterwards
many players and supporters kick on to our top sponsors theThe
Westport Club
and Finnian's
Tavern
for a usually eventful evening of entertainment.
The Club has both a very active social committee and a busy social
calendar for players and supporters that runs throughout the year.
Including such events as trivia nights, Sunday barbies for the whole
family and too much more to mention...
Traveling
to Away Games
In most cases a mini bus is available for player transport for away
matches. Car pooling also takes place to ensure that all who wish to
attend can, this also includes supporters.
